The course could be improved by letting students study and analyze a very well written general article/paper which describes common life on everyday news, and has nothing to do with science or technology or any specialties. By doing that, I think international students may learn to appreciate the formal way that Americans write or communicate, so we can avoid some improper wording or wrong usage of phrases in our everyday writing exercises.

We can consider to add some teaching materials on project 4. For example, talk more about the frame of articles of journals, and discuss the sentences or words commonly used in the journals. Also, we can put more time on the last part of the project (change slightly on the current syllabus).
