J’ai mis cette liste de trucs à faire avant mon départ sur mon autre blog il y a quelque temps et j’y travaille régulièrement… mais j’arrive malgré tout à oublier la moitié de ce que je dois faire et il ne me reste qu’une semaine, en gros, puisque les déménageurs arrivent le 18, alors c’est un peu la panique par ici. Et c’est bizarre, plus je raye des trucs de cette liste et plus elle s’allonge… C’est comme les cartons: plus j’en fais, et plus il me reste de choses à encartonner! En plus, je me suis super bousillé le poignet droit hier (j’espère que ce n’est pas un tendon ou un ligament déchiré, mais malheureusement ça ressemble beaucoup à ce que je m’étais fait à mon coude l’été dernier et qui a mis bien 6 mois à se réparer). Faire des cartons (et marcher) avec la main gauche seulement, c’est pas le top, alors je suis plutôt fatiguée et découragée, ces jours-ci…

- get my driving records @ the DMV
- type and print (3 copies) my two lists of boxes (1. what’s in the truck, 2. what comes with me)
- apply for a social insurance number asap
- write to grad school to verify graduation check-list
- find a way to get a new copy of my US credit history
- send fax and close wells fargo account
- call my car insurence
- send 20 postcards (devinettes)
- find someone to clean before i leave the country
- write chapter 1 of the book
- fill a couple of suitcases with what i’ll keep in the car with me
- write the book proposal and collect/edit first chapters
- send the paperwork about graduation (after the 5th) + the work permit + new address to the lawyer

- get a certified check in US dollars for first month’s rent
- go to Indy for stamp from the USDA
- make sure my revised plan of study is accepted
- say goodbye to 200 people
- get the cats’ health certificates
- change amex and skymiles addresses
- call aol
- call the power company
- schedule the moving-out inspection
- order a new phone/internet connection there
- check if i can buy purdue’s email address
- call landlord about date and time of arrival
- clean and empty my office + return keys
- order graduation tickets + cap and gown
- have the oil/filter + tires checked on my car and change the windshield wipers
- send individual report about my research to all administrators
- call my phone/internet provider
- call the school about health insurence
- return fox’ dissertation and margie’s books
- buy an air mattress
- work on book proposal and send call for chapters asap!
- check what’s going on with the nnest interview
- call the credit bureau
- close my many banks accounts except for one
- cancel my many credit cards except the amex
- call amex to get a new card in canada
- email my dissertation to the two psych guys
- verify that my credit history arrived safely
- revise, print, and distribute my dissertation to committee members + library
- ask about how to pay my rent in july and where my mail will be kept
- send my syllabus to Adrian asap!
- buy some kind of screen for the car / cats
- have a transcript sent when i graduate
- buy mac programs while they’re cheap
