The 42nd TESOL Annual Convention and Exhibit will happen on April 2 to 4, in New York, NY. During the TESOL convention, join us at the Caucus Business Meeting on April 3, Thursday.

Dr. Nuzhat Amin, assistant professor in the School of Education at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, died May 21, 2007 from complications associated with breast cancer.She was 60 years old.

Visit our Caucus Forum section to read the interview with Tunde Csepelyi, our NNEST Caucus of the Month.

The forum is a place where you can post any ideas or comments about teaching ESL/EFL, school or work, and meet other members of this caucus.

TESOL Quarterly 2006 Special Topic Issue: Race and TESOL

In September 2006, TESOL Quarterly published a special topic issue on Race and TESOL, edited by Ryuko Kubota and Angel Lin. The issue includes articles by Suhanthie Motha, Lisa Taylor, Kay Hammond, Ena Lee, and Andrea Simon-Maeda, with a Forum piece by Ruth Spack, a reply to Jennifer Jenkins's "Implementing an International Approach to English Pronunciation" from Mitsuo Kubota, and Brief Reports and Summaries from Khadar Bashir-Ali, and Sarah Rich and Salah Troudi. The issue has been mailed to subscribers and will be available soon on IngentaConnect.

Call for Book Proposals on Nonnative English Speakers in TESOL

The Publications Committee invites book proposals (single-authored or edited volumes) from classroom teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and other specialists on all topics related to nonnative English speakers in TESOL, e.g., training, classroom practices, professional development, sociopolitical and political issues. Letter of interest and short description due July 31, 2006, to cedwards@tesol.org.

TESOL 2005 was a success!

Many exciting things have changed in our caucus! You'll hear from your chair soon about plans for next year, and changes to this website will also take place soon.

Think about submitting papers for the TESOL 2006 conference (in Tampa, Florida). The deadline for sumbission is JUNE 1, 2005!

There is a new format for conference presentations (papers, workshops, work in progress, etc.): it's a 20-minute time slot, with 10 minutes for questions, available to everyone. Take advantage of it!
